remote control of humans

This is so weird. Some Japanese researchers came up with a way to remotely control human movement. Oh it's so weird. Anyone who still thinks that their mind is tucked securely away in their skull should wake up and smell the coffee, or WE'LL MAKE YOU DO IT FROM AFAR!!!!!!!

wow, that's awesome. I can't

wow, that's awesome. I can't wait until I can control Jamie from my computer. In fact i've been sponsoring this research from behind the scenes in order to achieve this...

Ok, kidding aside this is rather remarkable. I have a difficult time imagining all the scenarios where this might be useful, I suppose it's just another step in the integration of technological hardware with biological hardware. Seems like it has the potential for both positive and negative consequences, just depends on how nefarious one's intent is.

I have to say, I did double take with: "And it may also help people dodge oncoming cars or direct a rescue worker in a dark tunnel, NTT researchers say."

Are they going to do an experiment where they put subjects in front of speeding cars to test this? That would be real fun.. Reminds me of the video game Frogger.

How about used to help people dodge oncoming bullets, or oncoming nunchucks. This could create a super GI Joe, and make the scenario of the cartoon warfare where nobody gets hit by the laser fire a reality.
Phew, my mind is spinning...
